What is a Home Protection membership?

A Home Protection membership from John The Plumber provides scheduled preventative maintenance for your home's plumbing, heating or cooling systems, depending on your selected plan. Members also receive benefits such as waived call-out fees, repair discounts and priority scheduling.

What Home Protection plans are available in Ottawa?

We offer three memberships: Home Comfort Maintenance for heating and cooling care, Peace of Mind for plumbing maintenance, and Total Home Protection for combined plumbing, heating and cooling care. Each plan has its own maintenance schedule and membership benefits.

How many maintenance visits are included each year?

All three Home Protection memberships include two scheduled maintenance visits per year.

Home Comfort Maintenance includes spring cooling and fall heating tune-ups. Peace of Mind focuses on plumbing maintenance, while Total Home Protection combines plumbing, heating and cooling care.

The services performed during each visit depend on your selected membership plan.

Are repairs and replacement parts included?

No. Your membership includes the scheduled maintenance and service benefits listed in your selected plan. Replacement parts and repair work are billed separately.

Members receive a discount on repairs: 10% with Home Comfort or Peace of Mind, and 15% with Total Home Protection.

Does priority scheduling guarantee same-day service?

No. Priority scheduling means we'll work to arrange your appointment as quickly as possible, subject to technician availability and existing service commitments. Same-day service and specific response times are not guaranteed.

Are call-out fees waived for members?

Yes. The standard $79 call-out fee is waived with all three memberships. Total Home Protection and Peace of Mind also include waived after-hours call-out fees.

Any approved repair work and replacement parts are billed separately.

What labour warranty comes with my membership?

Home Comfort Maintenance and Peace of Mind include the standard 2-year labour warranty. Total Home Protection provides an extended 3-year labour warranty on qualifying repairs.

An active membership is required when qualifying repair work is completed to receive the extended warranty. Warranty terms apply.

Is there a minimum membership commitment?

Yes. All Home Protection memberships have an initial 12-month commitment. After the initial term, memberships continue month-to-month and can be cancelled with 30 days' notice, subject to membership terms.

Will I receive a report after maintenance?

Yes. After each scheduled maintenance visit, our technicians provide a written report with photos. The report explains what was checked, what was found and any issues that may deserve attention.

How do I sign up for a Home Protection membership?
