Sink Repair and Replacement Services
A slow drain can be caused by a variety of things! Common causes include a buildup of grease, oils, fats, hair, food particles, coffee grinds, eggshells, sediment, and anything else that finds its way into your drain. These things often accumulate at the bottom of your P-trap.
If you are finding that your sink is draining slowly, we have a plumber near you who can help with a proper drain cleaning! We will remove any semi-blockages manually with a plumber’s auger or blast out the blockage with a Hydrojet! After annihilating the blockage, it will flush smoothly down the rest of the drain system.
Clogged sinks and complete drain blockages are the results of a buildup in the drain, usually built up over an extended period. While a plunger will often do the trick, sometimes a professional is needed to prevent an overflowing sink.
John The Plumber will use the same techniques as a standard drain cleaning, which will remove the clog completely and leave the drain clean, without damaging the pipes like harsh chemical drains can!
Sink Drain Replacement
A leak under the sink when using water may indicate that your sink drain is leaking! Don’t worry, you don’t have to replace the entire sink! A sink drain replacement will do the trick! Whether your sink drain or sink strainer, is leaking or you want to replace it due to scratches or discoloration, John The Plumber can help. We come prepared with a variety of sink drains and strainers for any job. We’ll remove and replace the drain, stabilize, seal, and test it, and be on our way!
With our No-Leak Guarantee, you can relax knowing that we’ll take care of you before and after the job!
Leaky faucets, noisy faucets, inconsistently flowing faucets, malfunctioning sprayers, and broken faucets are no good! Whether your bathroom faucets or kitchen faucets are malfunctioning, we come equipped to repair anything.
Call John The Plumber and when we finish the repair, your faucet will be as good as new!
Sink Stopper Repair
Everyone has encountered a broken sink stopper at one point or another. If your stopper is stuck, it’s usually as easy as disassembling the pop-up stopper, cleaning the stopper assembly, and adjusting the hardware. Usually, the problem is that the retaining nut is too tight, which prevents the stopper rod from sliding down.
Next time we’re in for your complimentary Annual Plumbing Inspection with our Peace-of-Mind Plumbing Program, we’ll repair it in no time! Otherwise, call any time and one of our experts will repair the stopper at your convenience.
Low Water Pressure
Low water pressure isolated to a single faucet usually indicates a blocked aerator or a clogged cartridge. This is simply a matter of disassembling the faucet and cleaning the components. This is a quick fix and John The Plumber is always happy to help!
Low water pressure in all of your faucets is another matter, but we’re still the local experts you can count on! If you’re tired of slow pouring faucets, give us a call and we’ll schedule an appointment at your convenience to increase your water pressure in no time.

Bathroom Sink Repairs
Bathroom sinks deal with a lot! With so much soap, shaving cream, and hair trimmings, they seem to clog all the time! Whether you need a bathroom sink drain cleaning, replacement, or to stop a bathroom sink leak, we’re here to help! If you’re renovating your bathroom and want to upgrade your bathroom sink with a bathroom sink replacement, trust John The Plumber to the task! We’re fast and efficient while providing proper plumbing services, saving you time and money!
Without drain vents or vent stacks, a vacuum in the drain pipe would prevent the flow of water and waste. We need drain vents to regulate airflow and help water flow smoothly, and to remove gas and odors!
When your plumbing air vents aren’t working properly, your drain system won’t work properly either. Gurgling noises, sewer gas smell, and slow drains often indicate that there is an issue with the plumbing vents.
Call John The Plumber and one of our technicians should be able to clear your drain vents in no time.
How to Clear a Drain on Your Own
Avoid Drano and other harsh chemical treatments! Otherwise, you may need a plumber to replace drain pipes instead of clearing out clogs!
Try using a plunger! Plungers aren’t only for toilets. The force of the plunger and the vacuum created when plunging up and down will likely clear any sink drain blockages.
Try pouring half a cup of baking soda and half a cup of white vinegar into the drain. After 15 minutes, boil a kettle of water and pour it down the drain to flush it out.
A wire hanger can be used as a makeshift Plumber’s Auger. Strain the wire, and try to break the drain blockage.
Lastly, a Wet/Dry Vacuum may suck back or push out the sink drain clog.
How to Prevent Sink Drain Clogs
Don’t wash beard trimmings down the drain. Use the stopper to block the drain, and vacuum it out to quickly and effectively clean the area.
Clear plates into the trash before washing them.
Wipe thick and sticky materials off of surfaces before you wash them.
Regularly flush out the drain with very hot water to help melt the soap.
Every few months, pour ½ cup of baking soda and ½ of white vinegar in the drain. After 15 minutes, flush it out with hot water.
Why Does my Sink Drain Smell?
Sink drains use P-Traps to block sewer gas from entering your home. P-Traps are drain pipes that bend low and come back up, which traps water in the dip and blocks sewer gas from entering your home. If the water escapes, via a leak or evaporation, sewer gas is free to enter the room.
In other cases, a drain blockage or semi-blockage may have occurred. A combination of gunk and food matter may be stuck in the drain and rotting, which may be releasing off-putting smells into your home.
In rare instances, bad plumbing or missing components may be contributing to a stinky drain. Call a licensed plumber, like John The Plumber, and an expert technician will get to the bottom of it!
Can Porcelain Sink Chips be Repaired?
You can hide chips in Ceramic and Porcelain sinks with Epoxy! Buy a Porcelain Chip Epoxy, scrub the chipped area, and apply the epoxy to the chip. Let it dry for 24 hours before using the sink, and be gentle around the sink for a week. After that, it should look great!
