To open the sink trap and clean the blockage, you need to first reduce the water in the sink and now use a bucket to collect the rest of the water in you blocked sink. Untie the sink trap and use a bottle brush to clean the inside properly to remove all dirt in the trap if your sink is blocked. This alone will further help to reduce dirt build up in the near future. Once you are done cleaning, reinstall the trap back in place and run boiled water through the pipes in other to flush out any dirt maybe left inside the pipes, then test to see if your sink is running normally again.
Generally, with the procedures I have given you, if you follow the above instructions carefully and correctly, you will not have a block sink for a long time.
