Blocked Pipes? Barrhaven, Hydro Jetting Is The Solution!

Greetings! The plumber Barrhaven has chosen since 2006 is here to talk about one of biggest innovations in drain cleaning!

If you have been noticing that clogs are recurring in your home as a constant, or that your water pressure seems weaker than normal, or maybe you’ve flat out incurred a more substantial block in your system, it’s time to call a Barrhaven drain cleaner in to have a look at your pipes.

More often than not constant clogging or issues with water pressure are indicative of a serious problem within your pipes. This is something to pay attention to as this not only prohibits your water supply from functioning properly, it can become a matter of health as you may have a contaminated water supply. We thought we’d take some time today and blog to you about the best solution for this Barrhaven: Hydro Jetting!

WHAT Is Hydro Jetting?

Hydro Jetting is the use a high-pressured water machine that will break up grease, muck and other debris that is causing your blockage while scrubbing the inside lining of your plumbing pipes at the same time.

HOW Does It Work?

First, a plumber will utilize a camera designed to go down your pipes to find out exactly what has caused the blockage. Next, your plumbing specialist will insert a hose with a nozzle that is connected to a tank of water/water supply. The machine pressurizes water from its tank, and sends a powerful stream of water down into your pipes, hence the name “Hydro Jetting”.

Your plumber is trained with the expertise to know how much water pressure to use based on the problem they have noted, it depends on what kind of condition your pipes are in. In some cases, the machine may be set to deliver up to 20 gallons of water per minute (FYI normally your taps produce from 5-6 gallons a minute – 20 gallons is a very strong stream of water!). This process largely involves working with gravity. The hydro jetting tool works from the bottom up. The hose and nozzle are inserted into the downstream of your system, working its way upstream. As the water scrubs out your pipes, the muck and debris becomes dislodged and then drops downwards, it flushes everything out of your piping system. Neat eh?!

Caution: Hydro Jets & Tree Roots!

In the large majority of cases Barrhaven, hydro jetting is the most innovative and a safe way to remove blockages from your pipes – except with tree roots. In this case it is prudent that an ol fashioned snake/auger be used to break up the tree roots as the hydro jet alone can cause further problems if the tree root situation is significant. If tree roots have infiltrated and caused pipe damage hydro jetting will only further that cause by aiding in soil and rock to infiltrate as well. If this is the case, it is recommended that you use the hydro jet afterwards to give your pipes a good cleaning, but let the snake/auger get the tree roots out first.

End Of Task:

Remember that camera we mentioned earlier? Once the job is complete, your plumber will use the camera again and inspect your pipes to assess how effective hydro jetting was, and to advise on the condition of your pipes so you know if further upkeep or other work is required.
