Warm Shower Drips
If you have shut off your shower yet there is still hot water dripping from it, most likely this has to be your hot water mixing valve. What has most likely occurred is for whatever reason the ball in the valve has moved out of place and as a result warm water is able to pass through even though you think you’ve shut it off. This is something you replace not repair; it’s not that expensive and you’ll spend money over and over if you keep repairing it (breaks once, it will continue to do do!)
NO Hot Water
If your cold water is running strong but there is no hint of hot water know this has zero to do with your water supply and everything to do with your hot water mixing valve. Could need to be replaced, maybe it just needs a repair but trust us, that’s what is wrong.
Half Time Hot Water
If you are in an older home with an older hot water heater, this might be your situation. When their hot water mixing valves break, they show this by not being able to regulate their water temperature. As a result, hot water turns on sporadically as opposed to every time you try and get some. If this sounds like you call a professional to have a peek!
