Ahhhh the kitchen…

The place where the family meets and eats. The kitchen is always the hub of the house, from everything to meal preparing, scratch cooking and entertaining to doing homework, washing up the dishes and important family meetings; the kitchen is where it’s at.

The kitchen is a very common area to start renovations in your home. At John the Plumber Mississauga, we get a lot of phone calls for questions, estimates and repairs on kitchen sinks and faucets, connecting fridge water lines, hooking up dishwashers and installing the odd washing machine. But what if you are doing a new kitchen renovation? What happens then?

These lovely Mississauga homeowners are getting new countertops for their kitchen. Jonathan and Eric took this call today – it was relatively straightforward. They began by ensuring their workplace was going to be kept neat and today and proceeded to go ahead and cut and remove the existing drain under the sink. They installed a “soft cap” – the idea behind his is twofold – it prevents and sewer gas smells from entering the kitchen but makes for easy removal for when the new sink had to get plumbed in.

Upon removing the faucet, they did notice that the existing shutoffs were not completely shutting off the water, so they went ahead and installed new ones after notifying the customer. The island sink also had an automatic vent installed as it had been vented incorrectly and causing these Mississauga homeowners some challenges.

The homeowners were very satisfied with our work; we will of course be seeing this house again once the countertops are in so we can hook up the sink and install the faucets.
